Activity: Remove blackberries and other invasives, which are burying our baby trees.
Bring: heavy work gloves, sturdy footwear
We’ll provide shovels, coffee and snacks.

For several years I saw the advertising for work parties in Juanita Woodlands, but I’m shy. I was afraid I’d be dealing with a clique with high standards, and I’d feel like I was in Junior High. Finally I built up courage, and discovered a wonderful welcoming group who enjoyed and wanted to preserve the wonderful natural environment on the hill. There was no criticism of my poor shovel skills, or my muttering when roots wouldn’t come out. And even better, I felt a strong sense of satisfaction after mucking in the woods for a few hours with my neighbors. Please come!
