Kirkland Plastic Bag Ban Starts March 1

Starting March 1, 2016 disposable plastic bags will be banned in the City of Kirkland. The program restricts retailers from offering plastic bags to consumers at the point of sale. This new policy provides an incentive to consumers to bring their own reusable bags when they shop by requiring retailers to charge at least five cents for each large paper shopping bag.
