Learn Gardening at McAuliffe Park

Do you love to garden? The Kirkland Parks Foundation has met its fundraising goal to complete a community learning garden at McAuliffe Park,and they are looking for volunteers. The learning garden will serve as a center for learning about composting, organic gardening, nutrition, and other topics related to sustainable food production. Recycle Christmas Trees Curbside

  Waste Management will collect Christmas trees free of charge during the first two full weeks of January 2016: January 4 through January 15. Trees must be no more than six (6) feet in length; larger trees should be cut in half to meet the length requirement. Trees must also be unflocked and undecorated. Single Family Residential customers are asked to place your tree at the curb before 7 a.m. on your regular service day. The Christmas Ships will visit O.O. Denny Park on the shores of Lake Washington this coming Saturday, December 19. As usual, the flotilla will stand offshore and regale us with caroling and their beautiful Christmas lights. And we’ll have a roaring bonfire and free hot chocolate to keep us warm.
