A new trail guide showing the trails, trailheads, and points of interest within O.O. Denny Park, MacDonald Memorial Preserve, and a portion of Big Finn Hill Park has been released! Neighborhood Safety Program Request for Project Proposals

The City Council is pleased to announce a pilot program to address neighborhood pedestrian and bicycle safety needs. The Pilot Neighborhood Safety Program will be focused on the new neighborhoods (Finn Hill, Juanita Neighborhoods, and Evergreen Hill/Kingsgate) in 2014. If successful, the Program will be implemented Citywide using 2012 voter approved safety funding from the Streets Levy. The purpose of the Program is to reenergize neighborhood associations by empowering them to work collaboratively to identify, prioritize and address pedestrian and bicycle safety issues. In the current pilot program, there is a total of $150,000 available for projects under $50,000....

We need your ideas on traffic safety projects we should consider implementing that are under $50,000. Kirkland recently approved the creation of a Neighborhood Safety Program and is soliciting applications from neighborhood associations on …how to spend $150K this summer. 100th Ave NE Corridor Study – Community Input and Priorities

The attached letter was sent to the City of Kirkland Public Works Director. The letter identifies 100th Avenue NE as a key corridor for our community as it provides access to the northeast portion of our neighborhood and the North Juanita Business District. In the letter, the Finn Hill Neighborhood Alliance identifies four key goals and priorities for this corridor. FHNA requests that these priorities and goals should be evaluated in the master plan to provide a long-range vision and a cross-section for the corridor. Changes to Fire Service on Finn Hill

FHNA has been working with the Kirkland Fire Department over the last few years to improve overall fire response times to our neighborhood, ever since volunteer EMTs were re-established at Fire Station 24 (along 84th Avenue at NE 141st Street). We are very pleased to report the City has added one additional professional firefighter to Fire Station 25 (along Holmes Point Drive at its intersection with Juanita Drive) as of August 15th, bringing a total of 4 firefighters who staff the station on a 24-hour basis.
