A celebration of the trail that unites our city. Kirkland’s neighborhoods will come together for the first city-wide block party on September 9th 2017. All the neighborhoods will host stations along the CKC for this fun, exciting event. On September 9th 2017,  friends and residents of Kirkland are invited to participate in a block party that will be held on and around the Cross Kirkland Corridor. Earth Day at Juanita Heights Park

Under a sunny morning Earth Day sky, 37 volunteers cleared blackberries out of a 4,000 foot area in Juanita Heights park. We cut back the canes, piled them on rafts made from woody debris, then shoveled and picked our way beneath the root crowns. King County Conservation Trust Grant CommitteeTour

On a sunny Tuesday, April 26, 2016, the King County Conservation Trust Grant Committee toured the Juanita Heights park and trail proposed expansion area. The area is on Goat Hill. FHNA has partnered with the City of Kirkland in applying for a 2016 Conservation Trust 135K grant toward purchasing forested parcels on Goat Hill for permanent open space.  Michael Cogel, City of Kirkland Interium Parks Director, led the tour. The Conservation Trust Grant Committee received between 50-60 grant proposals this year. It tours several proposal sites before selecting and awarding funds.  FHNA wants to build a sizeable fund for property...

Leah Berner is the Finn Hill Neighborhood Alliance photographer. The winter scene on the home page is photographed by Leah looking at the East Cascades.
