Kirkland Historic Property Inventory – Annexed Areas

Funded by a grant from the State Department of Archaeology & Historic Preservation, a dedicated group of volunteers is working with the Kirkland Heritage Society, the City of Kirkland, and the King County Historic Preservation program to update the city’s Historic Property Inventory Progress on the Kirkland Historic Property Inventor A meeting is set with the City of Kirkland’s Senior Planner & the County’s Preservation Architect on March 20 to go through the finalized documents to pick out 50 properties from the total annexed area. Park Steward Training – Get Involved

Washington Native Plant Society (WNPS) is running a FREE 10-week Native Plant Steward Training. The Green Kirkland Partnership is partnering with WNPS on this training and a group of WNPS stewards will be doing restoration at Everest Park in Kirkland (with the option to stay on as a Green Kirkland Partnership steward after their WNPS hours are completed). Kirkland’s StyroFest Upcoming Events

Kirkland’s monthly StyroFest recycling events divert materials from landfill. The next weekend-long event begins on February 28. Since starting its unique plastic foam and packaging material recycling program three months ago, Kirkland residents have diverted an estimated 90 cubic yards from the landfill. StyroFest is the City of Kirkland’s collection event held on the fourth weekend of the month at the Public Works Maintenance Center located at 915 – 8th Street.
