This year’s DennyFest was held after a rainy morning and in the wake of a Seahawks season opener that didn’t turn out the way the 12th Man wanted. But DennyFest was the perfect antidote to cloudy skies and deflated football fans. Several hundred Finn Hill residents came down to O.O. Denny Park and were treated to fantastic music, great burgers and hot dogs, a selection of pies and a tasty pot of chili. Community Kitchen starting up again!

The Community Kitchen is starting up after a summer vacation.  The plan is making Italian food on September 25th.  We have a guest Italian cook coming to oversee our efforts. John Maietta manages the downtown Ben Bridge, but he is an Italian from New Jersey, with dual citizenship and a family in the restaurant business. The place is still the kitchen at Inglewood Presbyterian. The time is still last Fridays of the month, beginning at 5:00 in the kitchen. But, some folks must trickle in later, that’s okay. Walking & Biking to School

Walking and bicycling can be a great way to get to school. Students get exercise. Traffic around school may be reduced. And fewer cars can help the environment. Before you start, it’s important to make sure the route your student(s) take to walk or bike to school are appropriate. The district’s Safety Advisory Committee asked a subcommittee to review suggested walk routes to the district’s elementary schools. DennyFest 2015!

Mark your calendars! The 2015 DennyFest will be Sunday, September 13th. DennyFest is our annual neighborhood celebration of family, food, music, and arts for the Finn Hill Neighborhood. As always, DennyFest will feature live music, a dog show, chili and pie contests, guided hikes, and activities for kids. DennyFest will be held at O.O.
