GiveBig on Wed. May 15 – Please Support FHNA

FHNA Members and Friends: As you may know, the Seattle Foundation’s GiveBIG event is on Wednesday, May 15, and we are exhorting…urging…and entreating you to make a tax deductible donation that day to the Finn Hill Neighborhood Alliance. Just go to our GiveBIG page and donate online. What is GiveBIG? It’s the Seattle Foundation’s annual one-day event to promote contributions to non-profit organizations in the Puget Sound area. Donations made through the Seattle Foundation’s GiveBIG website between 12:00am and 11:59pm on May 15 to a participating non-profit group – like FHNA – will trigger an additional donation from the Foundation and local business sponsors. FHNA is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization, so your contribution will be tax-deductible. Why give to FHNA? FHNA is your neighborhood association. We work hard to ensure that Finn Hill’s unique interests are well represented at Kirkland City Hall and in King County Government. We have a strong record of working to preserve and enhance critical open space – for example, O.O Denny Park, the Juanita Woodlands Park, and the acquisition of lands for the Juanita Heights Park and the Eastern Finn Hill ravine. We’ve been active in promoting the development of a neighborhood zoning plan for Finn Hill and ensuring that zoning changes are postponed until that plan is created. We organize local events to promote a sense of community – DennyFest, our annual festival...

Expansion of Juanita Heights Park & Update on Chaffey PAR

Dear Finn Hill Residents: This is a short update regarding two significant developments: The City of Kirkland Approved the Acquisition of 6 Parcels to Expand Juanita Heights Park – March 19, 2013   Adding to Juanita Heights Park is important because the park is located in the midst of an endangered green belt on the eastern side of Finn Hill, which lacks protected open space. It’s vital to do everything we can to set aside properties on this side of the hill for recreational use. See Kirkland Views article. (See the Parks Dept staff memo and map, attached.) This acquisition...
