There are wooded parcels of land on Finn Hill’s eastern slope that can help to create greenways and trails connecting Juanita Beach to the top of the hill and, one day, a continuous pathway from Big Finn Hill through Goat Hill and up to Simonds Road.
Today, the Finn Hill Neighborhood Alliance (FHNA) is negotiating to preserve 8 pristine acres next to Juanita Heights Park. We’ll need community support and assistance from the City of Kirkland, King County, and other sources to fund the purchase.
If we don’t act, we’ll lose these green spaces forever.
The Future
If we secure this property as open space, FHNA will continue to work with local government and property owners to set aside other land for a continuous greenway for walking and biking that connects Juanita Beach to Simonds Road on the Kirkland/Bothell line.
Please Help Spread the Word
Over the years, Finn Hill residents have succeeded in protecting O.O. Denny Park and the Juanita Woodlands from housing subdivisions. Let’s do it again. If you want to get involved or just want to know more, please tell us by visiting our Contact Page and follow us on Facebook.
